| Training to be readiness in time of emergency In order to test our obligations in fire extinguishing capability, to ensure that when a fire broke out, we are able to respond swiftly with prompt action to extinguish the fire in the initial stage. In March 14, 2008, BrightOil’s oil terminal held its firefighting drill. At present, China's "two sessions" is open for full discussion, following "3 9" Pier safety incident at Zhong Peng terminal, on March 14 morning, a tanker filled with liquefied gas at Hua An gas tank, overturned in the accident and caused leakage of liquefied petroleum gas. These incidents happen in our surrounding sounded the alarm to us. Safety is no small matter; we must be prepared at all time. In March 14, 14:45 in the afternoon, our general manager, Mr. William Chia sounded the alarm at the control centre, 206 storage tanks caught fire, immediately activated contingency plans. After the control station’s alarm sounded, immediately proceed in accordance with the firefighting emergency plan and stop all oil depots normal operations, informed all the staff in place of contingency plans and await order. Having heard the alarm, the oil depot security guards carry out emergency evacuation, fire fighters spray cooling spray valve on the tank, water cannons on the tank fire, operators rushed to the scene to connect the fire hydrant to extinguish fire. All these were done swiftly and effortlessly in one smooth action. 14:48, in the afternoon, the company fire engines rushed to the scene, immediately put off the fire storm. Equipment maintenance team, backup ambulance teams rushed to the scene to participate in the emergency rescue. The entire exercise end at 15:20, our general manager, Mr. William Chia and depot’s deputy director Mr. Zhang Li will comment on the fire exercises, pointed out that the participating staffs after hearing the alarm response swiftly, regulate water fast to extinguish the fire, participating staffs were in good spirits, the fire drill was very successful. This exercise sounded the alarm on production safety for staff; further enhance the safety awareness of the staff and rapid response capability. Depot staffs are fully aware of the importance of fire fighting exercises. |
