| Successful Completion of Brightoil 2007 Speech Competition |

| Brightoil 2007 Speech Competition was held at Brightoil Petrochemical Complex and came to a successful completion on November 24 2007, 1400 to 1700 hrs. The theme of the oratorical contest was “No Excuses”. It was held at the inter-departmental level. A fair and just standard was used to evaluate the contestants based on the speech content, contestants’ performance and audience response. The contestants put in their best and the competition was an eventful one. The panel of judges includes; Deputy Finance Director Mr Hao Zhi Hua, Deputy Human Resource Director Mr Shen Yong Qing, Deputy Administration Director Mr Xiong Wen Kai, Deputy General Manager Mr Li An Gang, Deputy Sales Manager cum Logistic Manager Mr Chen Yi, Assistant General Manager cum Petroleum Storage Manager Mr William Xie, Operations and Facilities Management Department Manager Mr Chen Chun. Since ancient times, oratorical contest is a venue for the elites to meet and compete. After two hours of stiff competition, the winners were announced amidst the anticipation of the audience. Zhang Zi Guo from the Measurement and Settlement Department won the champion with his outstanding performance. Kong De Wei from the Human Resource Department, Biao Zhang Chen from combine team of Investment Department and Audit Department and Liu Zi Hua from Petrol Station Management came in second. Third place went to Wang Ya Qing from Administration Department Combine team, Xu Du from Financial System combine team, He Yuan from Petroleum Storage Department, Zhao Zhi Hong from Procurement Department and Wu Pin from Industrial Park. The theme of the contest was derived from a book titled “No Excuses”. Before the competition, the Human Resource Department organized numerous trainings for all the staff and developed conducive learning and practical environment for the spirit of “No Excuses” to flourish in the organization. Through the effort of everyone, the spirit of “No Excuses” will become the cultural essence of Brightoil and the standard of conduct for all members of Brightoil. Basically the meaning of “No Excuses” signifies the perfect execution of tasks. Deputy Human Resource Director, Mr Shen Yong Qing, disclosed Brightoil’s major developmental plans for the next three to five years during his opening speech, “to set up marine bunkering network along the eight coastal ports of China, to select the right location to build a 300,000 metric ton berth and 150,000 metric ton petrochemical transit base in Shengsi, to set up marine supply base on Da Chan Island situated at the western part of Shenzhen, Shenzhen Brightoil Phase Three Oil Depot and berth expansion project, upstream oilfield exploration and exploitation projects. Everyone was very proud and excited by Brightoil’s ambitious development blueprint. However, to achieve all the objectives, Brightoil need the loyalty and unity of all staff and also their adherence to the spirit of “No Excuses” in all their responsibilities. Trainings and speech contest are just part of the learning cycle, the most important point is to let the idea to take root in our mind and let it become part of our principle in our work and life. In fact, everyone plays a different role in the society and has different responsibilities. Hence, we have to practice the spirit of “No Excuse” not only in our work but also in our daily life. Through these trainings and activities, we hope that the spirit of “No Excuses” would become Brightoil members’ personal wealth. |
